New 800 Calorie HCG 2.0 Diet Book, published in 2018 by features:

In addition to the new veggie carbs, instant breakfasts, are many other new products for the HCG diet. They are reviewed in  ore HCG Foods for 2020.

Other issues include review of need for protein and mistakes make in the HCG diet.

All of our recommended products should be available at your local supermarket. A few are only found at Costco, BJ, Walmart and almost all are on  You can link to the best HCG Products.

The stand-out new products are “veggie carbs”. These are vegetables such as zucchini, cauliflower and squash made to taste like the high calorie, high carb originals without the high calories or carbs. The vegetable are prepared with eggs and no-carb fillers to produce high-quality vegetable dough from which various kinds of pasta are made. These products add a huge variety to the HCG diet making it much more interesting for most dieters. In New 800 Calorie HCG Diet(published by, I wrote that ” any product with net carbs more than 10 grams per portion prevents weight loss due to a reduction in fat burning.” All of the new products follow the principles of the 800 Calorie 2.0 HCG Diet: low calorie, net carbs less than 7 g, sugar 2-3 grams, protein 10 grams or more. Even the veggie low carb pasta from Birds Eye does not exceed 12 carbs per cup. A little higher than we would like, but when the portion is controlled acceptable 1-2 days a week.

Why Carbs are So Bad for Weight Loss

Many struggling to lose weight eat rice, pasta, and potatoes daily. I call these the “major carbs” as opposed to bread, fruits, cookies, and chips which I call “minor carbs.” All have few nutrients, high calories, and high carbs. Rice and pasta have more than 200 calories per cup and 40-46 g of carbs. All major carbs -will stop fat burning and the STOP weight loss on the HCG Diet.  Quickly broken down into simple sugars in the stomach, they raise blood sugar, are converted to fat, and produce hunger. All of these major carbs including white and brown rice, pasta, potatoes, quinoa, red and black beans, and even sweet potatoes, need to be avoided in this plan. Here are some other risks associated with eating these major carbs:

  • Increased sugar cravings and hunger
  • High blood sugar spikes which later result in lethargy and fatigue
  • Mental fog
  • Feeling full and uncomfortable after meals
  • Stomach issues such as flatulence, belching and bloating
  • Mood swings
  • Increased sugar can lead to diabetes and cardiovascular disease
  • Increased carbs lead to elevated LDL cholesterol
  • Elevated sugar increases risks for cancer

Vegetable Carbs: Good Alternatives to Rice, Pasta, Potatoes

New 800 Calorie HCG 2.0 Diet Book reviews the differences between the major carbs and the new veggie carbs. The recent low carb craze in the weight loss industry has encouraged the development of ultra-low-carb and low-calorie substitutes for these carbs. One cup of cauliflower has 25 calories and 1-2 carbs per cup compared to white rice that has 220 calories and 45 grams of carbs per cup. You can purchase them frozen in your local supermarket. Many supermarkets including Costco sell fresh zucchini and fresh cauliflower already prepared to resemble rice or even mashed potatoes.

New 800 Calorie 2.0 HCG Diet Reviews and Comments by Dr. Lipman

Reviews of New 800 Calorie HCG DietAmazon customer reviews 800 Calories HCG diet
“While we would love to have no criticism, probably if we had no critique, we wouldn’t be doing anything meaningful.” –Erwin McManus in 2018:

Dr. Lipman’s comments on reviews of his recent 800 Calorie HCG book:
I am always pleased to read reviews of my work. whether positive or negative. Positive reviews encourage me to keep on learning from the patients I treat in my weight-loss practice in Miami, writing observations in my booklets and blogs and researching together with my patients for better and better food products. Many of the less positive reviews were written by readers who do not understand the concept of my version of the 800 Calorie HCG diet. My goal was to take the original 500 calories Dr. Simeons’ diet plan from 1953 and update it with 2018 advancements in weight loss science, coupled with the numerous new low calorie, low carb and high protein products my patients are trained to find. There is not a day that goes by  that one of my diet patients does not  bring into my office an empty food bag or box, and say, “What about this…for my diet.”

Comments about “too few recipes, lack of weekly food plan, book is too short, I can get  it all on the internet for free” and disagreements about healthy or not healthy products for weight loss

My patients in Miami and many of my readers do not have time to hunt for special foods and prepare complicated recipes. There are hundreds of web sites and books with recipes for preparing HCG friendly foods. There are almost no ways to find HCG friendly prepared foods.  Some readers say my books are too short. I strive to make the book as short as possible. No one that I treat wants to look through page after page of daily and weekly food plans, or pages of recipes. I present all of my food choices using thumbnail pictures of the selections, portions, and preparations. Each dieter is free to pick the 2 or 3 choices from 6-8 possibilities for each meal presented on the 3 pages of food menus one for  breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
The reader can indeed find many of my images taken by google search and posted in “google” images at no cost. Lots of other information is also free on google if you nowhere to go. At the same time, the reader is exposed to information on the internet about healthy or not healthy foods written by anyone who has an idea and a computer. There are few board-certified medical doctors who are endocrinologists and who personally treat overweight patients with the HCG diet. My choice of foods and beverages are based on what is “healthy” based on current medical science and what food products can assist dieters to lose and maintain their weight.

This book was a godsend to me! I’m in the middle
of an HCG cycle and I needed to change things up and it wasn’t working. I love all of Dr. Lipman’s books, do I was very excited to see he wrote a book on HCG. He sheds new light on Dr. Simeons protocol and updates many outdated rules for HCG. This book is a must-read if you are doing HCG. Excellent resource! -E.S.”

Being a 500 calorie HCG dieter, I was intrigued by more options and new breakthroughs since Dr. Simions plan was published back in the 50s. I am going to experiment with Dr. Lipmans changes and see how it works. I lobe that this book gives food choices and pictures of approved products to use, most of which I eat in regular life phase!!!”

I’ve done the original HCG diet of 500 calories and it worked, however, you always gain the weight back. You don’t get to eat a lot of the foods provided in this new version of HCG. I do recommend this new version to try and have a lifestyle change

I liked the different food options. However, the book is really short and doesn’t give menu examples. That would have been helpful.”
